What’s in a name?.. or indeed a mental health label?

"EUPD/ BPD is one of the prime ones most commonly misdiagnosed. It is a label that is often slapped on patients these days that appear to not be responding to treatment. Maybe it offers the clinician a bit of a ‘get out of jail free card’. Its not my therapy that’s not effective it’s the patient. If the poor patient dares to question this diagnosis then woe betide them. I did knowing it was wrong and in fact I had reactive depression in response to loss (correctly diagnosed previously by 3 psychiatrists, 2 mental health nurses, and 1 psychologist – and yes I am aware that I used up a lot of NHS resources over the last year!!!)"
